why arent CL prices updated on the CAMC booking app / website each year when a site renews its membership of the club ? as so many cl's have old information / pricing on their listings.

Because the CL owners don’t pass the info to the club.

Unfortunately it also a failing of the club insofar as there doesn't seem to be any incentive made by the club on the owners to keep them updated. They ask them then seem to assume all owners will comply.
The experienced user of CLs will always try to find out the current price when making a booking. I prefer an emailed response to a request but sometimes you have to make do with a phone call. Quite a few owners have their own websites and prices will usually be available on them together with booking opportunities. Lastly you could always read the very latest reviews which might mention the price, although as each owner can set their own price structure there may be additions, for dogs or awnings etc.etc.
I also think you have to take into account the fact that the CL owner will have to inform the club, if they do, of their price well before the printing date in the Site Directory which then lasts for the forthcoming 2 years. Circumstances such as energy prices, insurance costs etc may happen at any time. However I do wish all CL owners would be responsible and ask the club to update any alteration to the printed price asap. Some do but quite a few don't.

I agree fully with the comments of @Wherenext as we, who use CLs on a very regular basis, always enquire of the pitching fees when asking about making a booking.
@moorlander999 perhaps you should be directing your query to @CLMaddie who is the club's representative on CT responsible for CL related questions. Should you do so, and receive a response from her perhaps you would forward what she has to say so that we too know the situation, TiA.

Hello All,
I can assure you that we do take every opportunity to remind CL Owners to check the accuracy of their prices and CL information on the website regularly. Owners are able to update their information at any time either by phone, email or via the CL owners online portal.
When a new sites directory and handbook is printed we also send each owner their CL proof asking them to confirm if it is correct or provide us with any changes.
The CL Team do all we can to keep the CL information upto date, but with over 2100 sites and a small admin team, the onus does have to remain with the CL Owner to provide us with the right marketing information.
As you know, prices advertised are the minimum a member can expect to pay which is why we always recommend a member confirms any price at the time of booking.

Thanks for that information @CLMaddie it is just a shame that there are so many of the CL owners who do not provide you with up-to-date information on their price and other changes that may have taken place since the previous version of the SD, and even many years before that in a few cases.
