Celebrity Traitors
Anyone else watching this? No spoilers, as some folks might be watching on catch up.
We have never watched Traitors before, so didn’t know how things worked, what to expect, etc… But I had a look at who was taking part on this first ever Celebrity version (being very wary of most of the D list celebs on most “celebrity” programs). Have to say, thoroughly engaged and enjoying it, some very funny moments and lovely interaction between those taking part. A really good mix of age groups, singers, actors, comedians, sportspersons, a very interesting YouTube political funster, etc…..

Another here. It’s a shame there are only 2 episodes per week.

Not my cup of tea like most reality TV programmes! I am actually finding myself warching less TV these days. Not even watched Newsnight since my stroke, hopefully one day I will get back to it.

We haven’t watched any of the original Traitors programmes, so not sure how this compares with those, but look forward to each episode of CT. I like the settings, the countryside and the “Crikey” outfits some of the contestants are wearing. I am wondering if a few friendships might need rebuilding though🤣

We watch it "live" in case of spoilers next day if we watch on catch-up. It's a long time to wait from a cliffhanger on Thursday till Saturday. Usually an hour programme at 9pm is a bit too late for us early risers. My favourite is out, but I'm rooting for another now.

Like @DavidKlyne we don't bother watching any "reality" TV in any format, with OH much preferring documentaries and historical or detective/thriller series, while I will watch the news, a little sport but prefer to read and spend my evenings on line my Kindle.

The term "Reality" does amuse me as I wonder whose reality it is?

I was fascinated by the original series of Big Brother, must be nearly 20 yrs ago now, because the concept hadn't been seen before, and there were no preconcieved ideas of what might happen. Contestants were just ordinary people taken off the street, and the interactions between them happened naturally.
These days, contestants seem to be selected for the 'shock factor' and in the expectation that somethings going to kick off. Consequently, it just feels forced and un natural.
The beauty of Celebrity Traitors is that its for charity, and the contestants seem to understand that its a game. Its good natured, but that doesnt dampen the tension.

Absolutely agree @DavidKlyne... it appears to be anything but reality!! 😀

It’s the only thing we are watching as it’s broadcast at the moment, as @Goldie146 says, to avoid finding out what has happened. We catch up on University Challenge, Only Connect and Have I got News for You, and that’s it for our main channel viewing. Beyond that we check out history programmes, watch old dramas or we are watching sport, mainly cycling. Talking Pictures TV has some old gems, and I might buy the odd movie to watch that is of interest. I did watch King and Conqueror, but that was some decent actors struggling with a poor script I thought.

We are not fans of reality shows in any shape or form but I do admit Traitors is an exception, celebrity or not. It’s a clever way of showing how herd mentality works, in a way. That happens more in the normal Traitors I feel, rather than this one but it’s strange how an idea, once voiced, seems to gain momentum out of nowhere. Anyway, it’s nice to have something to watch as the last few months have been dire on BBC. We have also been watching old Archeology programmes that we enjoy, and buying the odd film or series with favourite actors.

Herd mentality indeed Heddlo. Just occasionally, one of the contestants comes up with some different thinking, and it’s like a lightbulb moment……but then no one follows it up. And out they go🤭. It’s been far too easy for the Traitors. That said, I suspect it’s a whole lot different being around that table.

@Takethedogalong my OH’s thoughts exactly! Stephen Fry came up with a good idea at one time - no response whatsoever!

Some of them have come up with some brilliant theories, been correct, no one else has offered support, and bang, Traitors get rid. Some of the Faithful’s have practically committed suicide🤣 It is so intriguing watching different people. I cannot believe one of the Traitors is still there to be honest, but I can’t wait for the Traitors to start betraying each other. There has been a hint😏

There’s a fun quiz on the BBC website to see which person you would be on the Celebrity version…….be aware that it might contain spoilers………..
