Volvo XC60 trailer lamp check.

I have a Volvo XC60 towing a Coachman caravan. There seems to be a problem with the car performing the trailer lamp check function in that I have to press the control button multiple times before it will accept the command. This is irrespective of whether I have selected yes or no. I am told by my dealer that the problem is because the cars lights are LED 5v and the trailer lamps are 12v filaments lamps. I was wondering if anyone has an XC60 with a trailer with LED lights and, if so, is their lamp check function working correctly?
