If you are booking a site that is a fast check in site, these are now mandatory auto balance meaning you have to pay before arrival0
-
Yes but if you dive deeper you do have to pay before arrival but only by midnight the day before arrival. So even on these fast check in sites the option to pay only the deposit is still there, assuming of course you book enough in advance - by midnight the day before arrival.

@babyrhino did you get this resolved?
Were any of the sites you were booking fast check in? In which case, yes I've found out since my earlier post that you cannot untick but you can still only pay the deposit. There are 12 sites affected details here
You will receive an TEXT message 5 days prior to your stay to notify you that there is a balance outstanding for your stay with a link to make payment on the website. Any bookings made from August 2025 have autobalance collection mandated. If you booked prior to this, autopay was optional and if selected payment will automatically come out of your account at 2am on the day of arrival. If not, you will be required to submit your payment by midnight the day before your stay or park on arrival at the Club campsite and visit reception

this seems to me to be another camc comms breakdown. On the rare occasion we stay on a club site we opt to pay on arrival, not before. Reasons why don’t really matter. It the club has introduced new arrangements they should inform all members. I don’t remember seeing anything official on this either on the web site, in the magazine, or by email. Why oh why can’t the club get their comms with members sorted out.

To be fair they have @Hja on the two links taken from the official club site that I gave out two posts above. The fast check in has been in place for quite some time now and also details were published in the magazine as I recall, and there was a few threads on CT about it. I recall some lameting not going into the office as being too impersonal.
But it only affect 12 sites (listed in the link) out of 150+ so unless you're staying on these on one of those you will not be affected and can still pay on arrival.
More sites are to follow, personally I like to pay on arrival but if it means not having to go into the office using the 'fast track lane' and on my pitch quicker I'll get to like it. There is still the option to go into the office and not use the fast track lane. The feedback appears to be very in favour?

I don't understand what is being said on here. We have stayed at two sites this year, affected by the fast check-in - Broadway and Bridlington. At both of them I was able to opt for 'pay on arrival' as normal - went into reception and paid etc but thereafter was able to enter without the use of a barrier card, the ANPR system automatically opening the barrier for me.
I don't see what's changed re payment options.

@richardandros I think it might be to do with when you booked? I can only assume it was before August 2025?
If you did you had the option to pay on arrival, from August 2025 though that is no longer the case. From the FAQs:
Any bookings made from August 2025 have autobalance collection mandated. If you booked prior to this, autopay was optional and if selected payment will automatically come out of your account at 2am on the day of arrival. If not, you will be required to submit your payment by midnight the day before your stay or park on arrival at the Club campsite and visit reception.

"orpark on arrival at the Club campsite and visit reception."@Cornersteady - yes both sites were booked prior to 1 August - however, looking at what you've written above, doesn't that mean you still have the option of paying on arrival by parking up and going into Reception?0 -
I think that only applied if you booked before August @richardandros after that pre-payment is mandatory.
Perhaps @Rowena can clarify?
