Ford Grand Torneo 2.0l version - towing query
Hi all,
My first post here so here goes! I was wondering if anyone has any experience towing a caravan with a Ford Grand Torneo? The only review I can find online for the towcar awards relates to the 1.6l version which has a low braked towing limit of 845kg. However, it looks like the 2.0l diesel version has a braked limit of 1500kg which would be fine for my purposes. But I can't find any reviews of how it performs.
Basically, I'm looking at buying one to use as a daily car but also get a removable camper conversion kit that I can use for short trips but also want to retain the capacity to tow our caravan. I'm not particularly wedded to the Grand Torneo but it looks a good fit depending on the towing issue. A VW Caddy would also look good but slightly more expensive.

The Caddy and Tourneo are the same vehicle. You will find many bits under the bonnet of the Tourneo bearing the VW logo.
My only experience of the Tourneo is the current 2025 swb model petrol PHEV so not much help to you, especially as it wasn’t used for towing. I found it overly complicated in terms of touchscreens and electronic gadgetry but had no complaints otherwise.
