Unfortunately after 35 years of membership we have had to cancel a booking for the first time. Due to my wife succumbing to a nasty virus our annual September trip to Freshwater East site is off. We will re book as soon as she is better, but why do I feel so guilty about it?

Bad luck Scoutman, hope you get there later. You might not even have to book so far in advance? Sites don’t seem as busy outside of school holidays nowadays, barring a few of the hotspots.

@scoutman Sorry to hear about your wife but to answer your question, I understand but you shouldn't feel guilty at all, You booked in good faith and fully intended to honour your booking and you have a genuine reason for cancelling.

Firstly, I hope your wife recovers soon. Wow, if I read your post correctly after you visiting Freshwater East campsite for 35 years I am really looking forward to our visit, as it goes we leave in the morning for 3 nights to Freshwater East. We are new to Motorhoming, recently got back from a 3,5k miles trip to France and Italy and after this trip we look forward to our trip next month to Spain and Portugal. Love it.

@Rockybay We're at Freshwater East at the moment on a serviced pitch.... Bring some good weather tomorrow... it sounds as if it may be a windy day!!
