I read just now on another forum that this site is being evacuated due to moorland fires and to check with CAMC before travelling. I haven’t yet found anything official on CAMC's website.

    Yes, there’s a few sites on the danger list, and being evacuated. Moors have been burning for around two weeks now, and because it’s peat, it smoulders then pops up again. Not helped by old army ordnance, and the fertiliser works. Not a good place to be at the moment.

    A devastating fire and a very sad loss for wildlife etc. From the latest map we’ve seen it looks like the North York Moors site had succumbed, do hope everyone got away safely.
