JLR Pivi Pro Satellite Navigation
Hi all.
I’m wondering if anyone has experience of how good the “caravan” routing options are on the Pivi Pro sat nav found in Land Rover and Jaguar cars is.
I’m picking up my first caravan next month and am mindful of accurate routing given that I’ll be towing a 7.8m long twin axle. The sat nav in my Defender has an option for “caravan”, but I don’t know how this will fare against something more dedicated like a Garmin Camper 795.
Really interested to hear if anyone has experience of this.
Thanks in advance

My experience with a RR L405, the built in satnav always takes the shortest route so always requires caution though there is no caravan option on mine. The Garmin 795 and the Aguri caravan sat navs are unable to maintain satellite signals because of all the electronics in, and attached to the windscreen, I think this is going to be the case with all sat navs with in built gps, after long conversations with Garmin support, they offered to buy the unit back but only if it was purchased direct from them. I would try the pivipro on a test journey without the caravan attached but set up with the caravan dimensions. If your going third party try it before you buy it.0

In have had 4 Range Rovers and can comment as follows which I hope will help.
The first two were Range Rover Sports L494 - model year 2017 and 2021. To be honest the Sat Nav was not good when towing and I had a separate Sat Nav for caravans (Aguri). I chose Aguri as it has HERE Maps which are the same as Land Rover.
I then moved to an L460 which was the first RR I had with the caravan option and to be honest I did not need the Aguri Unit - it took me to the required destination and yes there were a couple of hiccups along the way but that was not the car's fault and I suspect even a standalone unit would have had a problem. It also took me around Europe without any problems.
The L460 went a few months back, replaced with a Discovery HSE D350 - possibly the best tow car I have ever had and tows nigh on 2 tons without any complaint. Again I use the PiviPro and this summer it took us around the UK without any problems.
I have not turned the Aguri Sat Nav on this year!
I rest my case m'Lord!!
