Chatsworth Site Closing

Don’t think Bolton will be on the take over list for quite a while, if at all. I think they willl ( Chatsworth ) see how the site at Chatsworth fairs ( which will probably take some time ) before starting another venture at Bolton

@hostahousey I don't see it that way, it will more than likely depend on Bolton's lease renewal, but there is no point in speculating further until more is known.

@Frank128 Certainly the gate and access to the Park adds to the site's popularity but I am sure the location of the site so close the the big house probably trumps that?

I see the booking page is now on the Estate website. Prices,or at least the one I checked, seemed a bit steep. One interesting thing I noticed is that they want you now the make and model number of your outfit?

The prices do seem on the high side, perhaps the Estate don't quite understand pitch prices? They obviously feel they can get more from the site compeared to a renewal of the Club lease. That might be difficult to achieve especially as removing it from the Club captive audience of a million people it means they have to start again building a customer base? I hope they suceed but it might not go as well as they hoped?

I would say the Estate know exactly what they are after……new customers willing to spend a lot to stay, and a lot to see and experience much of what the Estate offers, including all the events. As opposed to repeat visitors, who might spend a bit, then spend a lot of time either elsewhere not far away, or simple ambling through the gate for a pretty walk spending not a lot. It will appeal hugely to those who live a lot further away, who might have never visited before, or might have seen some of the films and TV the house has been used for, as visiting film locations is much beloved by the those who like to put photos on social media. I would expect the fees to go up hugely for some events, such as the Horse Trails and the Game Fair.

The prices for midweek June next year didn’t seem much different to what the CAMC would have been charging, being only 3% up on this years prices. There does seem to be a premium for weekends though, even booking this far in advance. The T&C’s seem loosely based on the CAMC’s, £5 deposit but residual due 21 days before and lost if you then cancel. Kids 5 to 17 are still £1. Dogs are still free but a max of 3. Overall better than I expected and we would still use it.

@SteveL I look forward to you or others reporting back after a stay under the new management?
