Thanks for the news of a new site on Anglesey. If you add more posts it would be handy if you could add a link to your CAMC, or your own, web page. I wish you all the best and hope your CL is a success HenWen.

With over 80 campsites on Anglesey already you are entering an already crowded field.
But if your campsite is in a better location than the others, more conveniently located for motorhomers, is more attractive, and if your website and booking system are smarter then you will get some visitors. But as a CL, rather than opening to all, your clientele will be limited and you will be missing all those potential customers who are not Club members. Good luck

But the site owner has all the advantages of being exempted👍

Wonderful location, our kind of CL, best wishes on your new venture. Sadly we aren’t able to tour at the moment, but when we can, you look a very nice option.😁

With four existing CLs within three miles of where you are you need to offer something different to out compete them - and one way would be to provide for a wider customer base than club members only. You wouldn’t open a B&B with that sort of members only limitation.

    You’re repeating yourself, Euro.

I'll credit the site owners with sufficient knowledge to know what they’re doing.

@eurortraveller you really think a B&B is the same as a CL. I mean just off the top of my head a B&B will need a building, bedrooms and furniture, perhaps even ensuite bathrooms. Those rooms will have to be cleaned, the bed changed, and linen washed and the bathroom cleaned? It will cost more to run in terms of heating and electricity? A CL like this one has none of the above apart from a pitch lawn and one bathroom cleaned? Also a B&B has to make money while many CLs are run in addition to another business.

As to just club members maybe that is part of the attraction for both members and those running CLs. Also I assume there is the benefit of the club doing quite a lot of advertising for a CL and its search functions, which a campsite would have to do themselves if not a CL.

You post as if you know the supply and demand for this area? Is this true? perhaps there is more demand than supply?

    Good luck @HenWenCamping

I would think that @HenWenCamping would have to be competitive on price as when we were on Anglesey at the start of the holidays the CL we were staying on had only 3 units at most on it, and it was less expensive, due to being discounted, with very similar facilities.

Hen Wen offers a £12 per night stay if you don’t use a hook up. Not many CLs give this sort of option at that sort of price. So for us, this is a unique selling point, and would put Hen Wen top of our list. It’s why we have found ourselves using more CS rather than CL sites lately. They tend to offer more choice in terms of with or without hook up at a good discount.

the web site says from £21.50 and then electricity by meter. So I am confused. And if confused when looking at the web site entry I tend to move on. £12 per night with out ehu is about what we reckon to pay. Would not pay £21.50 unless there was absolutely no alternative and it was exactly where we wanted to be.
