Electricity charges on pitches
Hello, we are thinking of staying overnight on camping pitch. We need a pitch with an electricity point as hubby uses a cpap machine. Having never pitched up before, can anyone tell me whether you get a separate bill for electricity used? If so, do you know at what cost it's charged on average? Hubby's cpap machine would be the only thing we'll be using. TIA

@Ange1a On virtually all club sites, if you select a pitch with EHU, electric hook-up, the cost of the electricity is in with the site fees. There are a couple of club sites where the electricity is on a meter, as is also the case on a number of CLs, and they have differing ways of paying for what you use. It would help to know which site(s) you are thinking of using, so that we could be more specific with advice.

Most sites have an inclusive price which allows you to hook up to the electricity bollard.
Metered supply is being trialled at some sites and you pay via an app. The price per kWh for metered use varies because CAMC have to pay different rates at different sites. The law says they cannot charge you more than they pay.The best thing is to read the clubs info in Technical Advice and FAQ and search the main website for metering info. Then, when you’ve chosen your site, study the web page for that site to see what the arrangements are.

The club sites charge is inclusive of electric hook up and just a very small minority are metered. So your pitch fee includes the pitch, 1 adult and electricity for your stay.
If you chose a site with metered electricity it will be stated and the cost per Kw clear.
Book and enjoy.

There is a good CL, a small 5 van site, that we have used close to Cardiff, South Lodge, at St Nicholas, No.1898 in the current Site Directory, which should suit you.

…or the Cardiff city site in Pontcanna Fields - within a walk of the city itself.
