Inappropriate lat/long format ?

Perhaps it is just our (VW group) car satnavs, and my (Garmin) motorbike satnavs, but they all use lat / long format of hours ,minutes & seconds, not decimal point format.

Do caravan specific satnavs have the ability to select which format lat / long to use?

Do other car makes satnavs have the ability to select which format lat / long to use?

If not, why do the club use a format that has to be converted to be usable

All the sat nav’s I have used have excepted lat and long in multiple formats. Personally I have always used the decimal format as I find it easiest.

Thanks for the comments. I played around with my bike satnav, and found I could alter the coordinate format, though nothing like as easily as the TomTom. But I still haven't found how (if it is possible) to change the format in the car satnavs. We occasionally think about a separate GPS for caravan usage, so something to consider. Cheers

I have Co-Pilot sat nav software and it allows coordinate format input to made via 4 sub menus on the find a location screen. In addition to decimal decrees, there is degree minutes, degrees minute and seconds and OS references.
