Good morning All,

First time poster so go easy on me :)

We have recently purchased a caravan and have been spending some time giving it a good clean ready for our first family holiday in July.

Having not towed a caravan before, i have took it out on the open road a couple of times to get used to it.

Last night we were spending some time getting things ready and noticed that one of the windows (bedroom driving side) almost looks like it is shattered, but if you touch it on the inside or outside you cannot feel anything and the window feels secure, i seems as though the problem is between the two pane.

see the attached pictures

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Allan

If you’ve recently bought the van from a dealer I would go back to him with the view of obtaining a replacement window. Otherwise, try to live with it if you can.

The window is crazing from inside the ‘double glazing’ and may get worse. New windows are very expensive but you might get one from a caravan breaker.

    Thanks for your response Tinwheeler.

We purchased it private and the window was fine last week..

Any idea what can cause it? possibly heat?

    thanks again.

Probably. That’s the reason we should never store vans with the blinds closed as it lets the heat build up.

Has the caravan been parked up in full sun with the silver blind pulled down? During the heatwave conditions of late, this can cause overheating of the window, possible cause? It is recommended that long periods should be avoided, just pull the curtains. There are a number of caravan breakers around where a second hand replacement may be possible.

Is it droplets of moisture, if yes, take the bungs out and let it self dry over a few days or weeks. The window could have delaminated
