Hi thinking of buying a Fiat Ducato Hymer B694 2002 Motorhome. With 190000 miles is it a good thing or will it be knackered

Would you buy any other vehicle with nearly 200k miles on the clock? I wouldn’t so the same applies to the Hymer in my book. A Fiat Ducato is a Fiat Ducato no matter what it’s got on the back but only you can decide as we can’t see or test the vehicle.

Perhaps someone might move your thread into Motorhomes.

That seems a very large mileage for a Motorhome, even one over twenty years old. Do you know if It was initially a rental vehicle, which might account for the high figure. If so I think I would steer clear, but that is just my opInion.

After a quick search, it does look to be in good condition and on the face of it, a good buy. However, I’d be very nervous about buying a vehicle with that amount of miles on it, even if it is a diesel.

I would say that it would be advisable to take a good look at its service history, but I wouldn’t rule it out altogether. I‘ve had my car from new for 9 years now and it’s got close on 150,000 miles on the clock. I quite confident that it‘ll be good for twice that. It’s always been serviced according to the book and never had a single repair other than to replace wear and tear items.

Hi they say He had it serviced regularly in a garage in town. They had also changed the gearbox a few years back that I know of.
Seems to be working fine, it passed the emissions test with no issues

Have you checked that the length of the LMC is no greater than 7m body length (excluding drawbar)
