Coed-y-Llwyn narrow access for 8ft wide twin axle?
Has anyone towed an 8ft wide twin axle to Coed-y-Llwyn club site? The site info states 'access narrow-call site for advice'. I have looked at the route on google maps which looks ok until the turn-off to Gellilydan where there appears to be a tight turn onto a narrow stone-flanked bridge. I also called the site and the warden said there were twin axles on-site so there is no problem, but I'm still concerned about the stone bridge and there doesn't seem to be an alternative way in to the village. We are coming from the East Midlands and I don't want to be anxious about the last couple of minutes of the journey for the 4 hours it will take to get there! Any advice from experience very much appreciated π

Thank you I've done it but wish I hadn't as it appears to be only 2.8m wide and the 'van is 2.45m π Not sure how accurate it is but I don't want to risk it tbh. There is literally nothing on the web that gives the width of the stone bridge (Pont Tafarn-helyg), so I guess the only other thing would be to call the local council for an accurate measurement.

If you phone the council about the width, are you going to completely trust the information given? How much room would you be comfortable with?
Personally I would phone the club and explain the situation and get my booking changed to a more suitable site. You are very concerned now. Imagine how you're going to feel as the drive gets nearer - let alone on the day of the journey!

Yes very true. Although I am surprised it hasn't been mentioned in reviews of the site, as it is a very important consideration when choosing a site with a large caravan π€·ββοΈ

We use that site quite often and although we don't have an 8ft wide caravan you will be fine over that bridge, it is narrow but wide enough for you. The next bit of the road in front of the houses is effectively one way because of the almost permanently parked cars but you can see through to the end of it and the final part to the site is single track but again you can see through to the end.1

Thank you. We have decided to go anyway as I would have thought any issues would have been mentioned in reviews. We go next Saturday 12th π
