Hyundai Tucson 2022/23-ish as a Towcar?

I have been looking at higher spec Kia Sportage (226BHP GT Line-S, AWD mild hybrid) as a replacement for my current old 180BHP Diesel AWD. The new model is a great drive and probably a good towcar, once you have worked your way through the minefield of decreasing tow capacities for newer models. However, I have just learnt that I will probably have to pay an extra £425 per year car tax (over and above the standard car tax) for the next 4 or 5 years for the privilege of owning one, as they were all over £40k, which I am not keen on. Can any owners advise me on the Tucson, probably the 180BHP AWD mild hybrid, as tow car?

I would be interested in recommended alternatives, but would prefer higher power, AWD suggestions, otherwise I may just stick with an older (but newer than mine - 2013) version of the Sportage or a lower spec model.

    In case it is of interest/helps, I posted the following against my Kia Sportage comments, the power and towing limits apply to the Tucson, althoug 'Luxury car tax' comment will vary.

    It took a while but I got the following from Kia:

    Re the current Kia Sportage (they didn't mention that a minor update out/coming out):

    Petrol Range: All 1.6 models have a BHP of 148 and a towing capacity of up to 1,650 kg, applicable to both 2WD and AWD Sportage’s.

    Diesel Range: The 2WD 1.6 CRDi ISG has a BHP of 113, while the rest of the diesel range has a towing capacity of up to 1,650 kg.

    HEV Range: This has a BHP of 226 and a towing capacity of up to 1,650 kg.

    PHEV Range This has a BHP of 261 and a towing capacity of up to 1,350 kg.

    Despite asking and chasing they didn't confirm the figures for the 207BHP version which came out during 2023, but I am pretty confident that the towing limit is 1,350 kg.

    So it looks as if, of the newer shaper version, only the the 148BHP and the 2022- 2023 226BHP is any good for towing. Of the faster plusher cars the good news is that if you go for the 2022 Gt-Line S 2WD it does not incur the 'luxury car tax' of an extra £425 a year for the first 5 years after tax was first paid (its original purchase). It looks like Kia have completely left the tow car market with the Sportage.
