What do you love most about getting away?

Hi everyone,
Let's talk about the joys of escaping into the great outdoors in our caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents.
What do you love most about getting away? Is it waking up to the sound of birdsong or exploring somewhere new. Or is it the freedom to travel, or those cosy nights inside your awning.
Personally, I love how these trips bring out the little joys in life. Like that first hot cup of tea brewed and enjoyed whilst sitting in my camping chair, or the smile on my son's face when he's made a new friend on the campsite.
What about you? What do you most love about getting away?

Firstly not being able to see 'jobs' that need doing ' which constantly happens at home!
Then yes new views, exploring and meeting new folks.
Sadly we can't tour at the moment and I do miss it. Arriving at a cottage etc is lovely but not quite the same......

Having no schedule. No “to do” list. No one to feed except my husband and I. No 5 am alarm. Staying up as late as we want and sleeping in next day.
Yes, it is nice to go away and explore somewhere different, but - we can do/not do everything in the line above just a mile from home. And if that is all we can manage, it’s good enough.

Finding somewhere remote, no other folks around. Peace, quiet, space, nothing but natural sounds, such as birdsong, running water, trees rustling, waves breaking on a beach. Above all no ruddy mobile devices or TV’s.

Unexpected pleasures and a de-stress from everyday life.
Take today. Standing outside the Van just about to walk to a bus stop when we spotted a Hobby (bird not Motorhome) whizzing around about 20 feet above our heads trying to catch House Martins. Hobbies are like mini Peregrines. Never seen it chasing and swooping before. Totally Unexpected.🙂

Visiting a large variety of different places, finding new walks as well as revisiting other favourite ones, meeting like-minded caravanners and meeting up with friends we have made from various parts of the country.

The freedom, the sights, just being outside and often being with friends!
I've been lucky enough to recently buy a house and often stay in to "enjoy my mortgage" on weekends, but I still get an itch to get back out in the roof tent if I've not been away for a few weeks. It might sound corny, but it's become a way of life for me!
