I need to replace the awning light and have managed to remove the cover intact, only to find a small fluorescent tube. Is anyone able to decipher the print on the tube…..does F9 mean 9 volts?

I have found a selection of tubes on eBay and just want to be sure I get the correct one.

Many thanks.

@greylag The "F" stands for Florescent and the 9 is the wattage. It is more than likely a 12volt bulb.

Would this be a suitable time to replace the complete light fitting with an LED lifetime unit as halogen bulbs run hot and eventually fail.

Many thanks for that bit of information, I will now be able to obtain one off eBay, local shops are no help.

LED would be good if I had any idea how to replace them.

    Kind regards.

We replaced all our bulbs with LED. As far as I remember they just slotted in. Check the existing fittings against those being sold. Often the seller can help if you have photos.
