Absolutely Loved Our Stay at Hillhead Club! (From a Neurodivergent Family)
Hey everyone! Just wanted to share our amazing experience at Hillhead Club Campsite. We're a family of four with a 4 and 7-year-old, and navigating holidays can sometimes be a bit tricky with our neurodivergent needs, but this place was just brilliant!
The whole site was so well looked after, and the facilities were spot on. We especially loved the family room – it was such a comfy and private space for us. The toilet block was always nice and clean too, which is always a bonus!
The kids' park was a total winner! They were absolutely buzzing and spent ages happily playing there. And the heated swimming pool? Seriously amazing! It was lovely and warm, and we never felt like it was too crowded, even when we went for a dip around 4:30 or 5pm before it closed at 6pm.
The evening entertainment was a nice surprise. The little ones really enjoyed it, and thankfully it wasn't too loud or overwhelming for them. We didn't go every night as that would have been a bit much for us, but the few times we did, it was great fun. Plus, the drinks were reasonably priced, which is always good to know!
The campsite's location is just perfect. We found it so easy to catch the bus right from the entrance straight into Brixham – super handy! And it was only a quick drive into Brixham for our early morning fishing trips at the breakwater, which the kids (and us!) really enjoyed.
We also had some fantastic days out at Paignton Zoo and Splashdown Quaywest. Splashdown being right on the beach was brilliant, meaning we could easily make a whole day of it, and parking was easy to find nearby.
We were on pitch 71, which was fab as it was so close to the park – the kids loved that! Just a little tip, it wasn't the most sheltered spot if the wind picks up.
Honestly, Hillhead Club Campsite was such a welcoming and easy place for our family to relax and have fun. We felt really comfortable and well looked after. If you're a family, especially if you have neurodivergent kiddos, we'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. We're already thinking about when we can go back!
