M23/A23 - Pease Pottage Services - Overnight Parking

Hi. Does anyone have any experience of parking overnight at Pease Pottage services with a caravan? They show a charge of £31 but using Google maps I don't see any dedicated parking area for caravans.
We're arriving in the area after 10pm and catching the 9.45 ferry from Newhaven in the morning. Our first choice is the car park just outside Newhaven Ferry Terminal which is OK for overnight parking but it's a bit tight and we may not get in. So I was looking at Pease Pottage as a backstop.

Thanks in advance
David

You are correct, there are no dedicated caravan parking bays there and it is quite small with limited catering. There are a number of other options - Clacket Lane at the top of the M25 have caravan pitches though it might mean a slight addition to your journey if you are travelling in the anticlockwise direction to turn around and return to the M25. Are you in a motorhome or a caravan? If in a motorhome there are a number of industrial estates near to the ferry where you could easily hold up over the night - and then drive down to the ferry at say 08.00 when they start to open. If you are with a caravan then this might not be such a good idea - due to space. You could try Hickstead services - maybe 30 minutes from Newhaven - a very very small services but they have a large carpark, travelodge and starbucks. There do not appear to be any parking restrictions and we stayed there for 4 hours with a 7,5 metre caravan in May of this year. I hope this helps

this not a place I'd stop with a caravan unless I was broken down and desperate, let alone over night. Few long parking slots and what there is is amongst lorries. Its quite small. I would look at Clacket Lane on M25 or Cobham depending the direction of approach.
