ULEZ Retrofit
Hi, I'm looking to buy my first mobile home (although we always had one when I was a child). I want to control the budget to within reason, but I am also aware of the increasing number of low-emission zones and the benefit of Euro 6 compliance. Obviously, this means a newer van with the associated cost.
I noticed the French website for registration of Euro 6 vehicles has a section on retrofit vehicles, which are accepted as compliant. This could (?) leave the option to buy an older van and upgrade emissions whilst still controlling the budget.
Has anybody got experience of retrofitting for compliance, the costs, process, and where to get the necessary work carried out?
Thanks
Alan

A company called Cybrand with HQ in Chester has a website giving a very brief outline of retro fit exhaust systems which they can supply and fit to improve emissions of older diesel vehicles. But I have no idea of their cost or efficiency or whether the certificate they issue would convince the French authorities to issue a better level of their own Crit Air certificate. My hunch is that you would be best advised to buy a more modern vehicle in the first place, but contact that company and see what they say.
