They seem expensive for a reason and that is they are generally expensive. But they are good, in demand and wear well. I had a non drive away Vango Siesta for a few years that I used on my low caravan and I was very pleased with it. I'm sure whichever you choose you will be happy. Just one piece of advice. Expect condensation, especially when night time temperatures start to differ significantly to those during the day. We used to leave the top of the front section open 70mm or so and this helped.

Thank you Colin , do you find that when you pitch up you just walk to places so you leave it in one position?

Our model was not a drive-away as we have a caravan.

Hi, fellow campervanner here, we have a VW California. We don't use a drive away awning now but we used to have one when we had our children with us. It was useful for the extra space, though a stand alone tent is as good in my opinion, just need somewhere for extra space and storage. Not sure if you're traveling with kids or a dog because that affects your decision.
Re your other question, we tend park up somewhere for three or four days, and walk or cycle from the site while we're there. It's easy enough to reconnect with a drive away awning if you do drive off site, but we prefer exploring on foot or bike.
