@janbri A compressor fridge does not normally need vents, unlike an absorption fridge. The suspicion is that AS have used the same body template for the new vans with compressor fridges as they did for previous models. Compressor fridges have fans and it may be that which is causing the draught.

If you have found 'a result', perhaps you could share it for the benefit of others in the same situation.

Ah, when you said "a result", I thought you meant you had a resolution to the problem.

    Good luck.

@janbri I suggest you take a look at the AutoSleepers Owners Forum. Your issue has already been mentioned on there.

    https://www.autosleeper-ownersforum.com

Btw, I suspect you are confusing the manufacturer with the retailer.

A Dometic compressor fridge blowing cold air into the motor area of a motorhome is not a normal occurrence and could indicate a serious issue. The fridge's compressor and cooling components are designed to be enclosed and shouldn't be expelling cold air externally, especially into the motor compartment. This could point to a leak in the refrigerant system, a fan problem, or a misrouted cold air duct.
Here's a breakdown of potential causes and troubleshooting steps:

    1. Refrigerant Leak:
      Description:
The most serious possibility is a leak in the refrigerant system. Refrigerant is a pressurized gas that circulates through the fridge's cooling cycle. A leak would cause the fridge to lose its cooling ability and, in severe cases, could blow cold air out of the system through any available opening, including the motor area.

Auto-Sleeper Warwick XL owners are finding the new compression fridge's cold air output, which is directed towards waist height, to be a mixed blessing, with some finding it a nuisance and others finding it to be a welcome feature. Here's a more detailed look at the issue:

    • Cold Air Direction:The fan in the new Auto-Sleeper Warwick XL campervans blows cold air directly towards waist height.
    • Owner Feedback:
      • Some owners find the direct cold air output to be a problem, with one owner's partner complaining about the cold air.
      • Others find the cold air output to be a welcome feature.
    • Possible Solutions:
      • Some owners suggest blocking the cold air outlet to reduce the direct cold air flow.
      • Other owners suggest adjusting the temperature settings on the fridge to reduce the amount of cold air being produced.

According to Dometic you cannot cover this vent
