Hi, My caravan is an old Ace Award Brightstar, first registered in 2003. I have been told that modern touring caravans red and blue semi flexible water pipes have a bigger internal bore.

Can anyone tell me what the diameter used to be, and what the diameter is nowadays?

    I think most dealers will be able to supply the pipes, but taking a length would help them identify the size of yours.

    Is the O/D, outside diameter now not smaller? I recall when fitting a hot water heater to a 2006 van in 2011 that I had to check carefully whether I was needing 1/22 or 12mm water pipe.

    Unless you have a micrometre to check the pipe diameter it might be worthwhile checking what appliances you have fitted then look up the technical specification of them.

    Colin, thanks for your reply, I was under the impression that modern caravans have bigger diameter pipes. I shall continue my research and perhaps call at a caravan dealership to check out modern pipes for comparison. Cheers, Nuggy
