Help with water inlet connection

Hello all

I have a 2008 Swift 480. My water connection point appears to be a Whale Watermaster one. It looks like a garden hose would push on the end. My previous caravans have been the Truma Ultraflow type.

Is the one on my caravan a serviced pitch only type? I want one that connects to an Aquaroll. Do I have to fit a different connection point? If so, will I need any other changes?

Many thanks, Nick

I would check with the person you bought it from if possible, but a photo would help.

Without seeing a photo and if it's the same as our swift (which sounds like it) you will need a whale connector one to use with your aquaroll. Now it also depends on if your caravan has an internal pump, if it does then get that type, if not you will need another type. All that changes if the bit at the end that you insert into the aquaroll, one will have a pump and the other does not.

This is what I have. I 'thought' it was some kind of superpitch connection 🤔

@Nick1973 wow, that looks nothing like mine sorry, I hope someone else will identify it. A dealer might be able to help.

That doesn’t look like any standard fitting I’ve come across. I wonder if it’s a home made modification by a previous owner?

When I looked at the photo, it looks kinda mashed up. I'm not wedded to keeping it , so if I were to replace it, what would be a good system to go for?

Perhaps a bit of research will reveal what system the van had originally. If you can buy the same, it may well fit in the existing aperture and be easier to install than something different.

edit: I think your van had a Whale system as you said at the start. I don't know if the following may help -

We also have a 2008 model Swift Group van, although we do have an onboard tank as it is a twin axle.

If you have an onboard water pump, you will need what is called a “water uptake” which is a hose with a filter on the end and the other end goes into the water outlet via a compatible fitting. Take a good clear photo of your inlet to a dealership to find the correct fitting.

If you have no pump, you will need a “drop into the tank” type pump to plug into the inlet.

Thank you everyone for your input. I appreciate your help. Putting all the bits together, I've made a decision/ purchase. I'll update once the parts arrive.
