Sorry I'm new on here and you probably gets lots of these questions. We've a seen a van that we really like but I am nervous about buying due to the Kerb weight and Nose weight results below. Also my wife isn't a light packer!

Would people risk buying this?

The outfit matcher isn’t always 100% reliable. I think you need to do more research on weights to confirm suitability and, when it comes to packing the van, you must not exceed its MTPLM no matter how much your wife wants to stow in it if you want to stay legal.

I would check he figures against the information from BMW to be sure, but assuming this is correct I think I would probably avoid the caravan.

The towing ratio is rather high and near to the limit even for experienced drivers. Personally as someone who investigated accidents I would prefer a better margin. It depends on the level of risk you are prepared to take on this, but it is high.

The nose weight ratio also looks a problem. It might need some work to get that down to 100%, which is the legal limit, and that weight moved to the back might cause some problems and done badly could cause instability. I would get it checked on the real thing though as the one you are looking at might be lighter.

Not sure your wife not being a light packer is a problem in connection with the information here though, as long as you do not exceed the caravan's MTPLM you are safe legally, which is a different question.
