@Briang No one will have any idea how much the prices will go up until the prices are published. But even then it won't be easy unless someone notes the prices for this year and compares them? But even then people will just make up their own minds if they want to pay to stay there.
Cheap, expensive? Well cheap and expensive are relative terms, what is expensive to one isn't to another and some may see it as good value?
Greed? Who exactly is being greedy? The club doesn't have any 'shareholders' and any profit is put back in and perhaps subsidises other sites and/or more refurbishments. Additionally, and more importantly, no one is forced to pay the prices set, staying at Hillhead is not a must have is it? If people are prepared to pay the set prices it shows the club is pitching (pun intended) the prices correctly?
But personally I'm glad to see more SPs are being put in, they are certainly popular, you'll struggle to get a full week on one from June onwards.

@Briang Regarding the price of drinks and food in the Clubhouse. Even Wetherspoons can't make some of their pubs pay and they are probably the cheapest around and also have a much greater footfall? The service industries, and that includes Club sites and Clubhouse have taken quite hit recently with rising wages. That can only be recovered from the people using the sites. As CS points out any surplus goes back into the pot to provide better facilities elsewhere in the network. We can't have our cake and eat it.

We have been going to Hillhead since the club took over the site 2or 3 times a year. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. Not now haven't been in the clubhouse for many a year. The grass pitches that are sloping should levelled. One other thing there have been a lot of trees cut which makes it a wind tunnel. We will still go because it's location that suites our requirements.

If I ever found a campsite where I was dissatisfied with the overnight prices, the alterations to the site being planned, the slope of the grass pitches, the trees being cut down, the direction of the wind, tne quality of food and the price of the beer…I would go somewhere else. Simple as that.
