Bestselling Scottish crime writer Denzil Meyrick has died at the age of 59.

The former police officer is best known for his series of 11 books about DCI Jim Daley, set in the fictional Scottish town of Kinloch. A great series of books which thoroughly enjoy reading.

    Sorry to hear that @nelliethehooker - Hadn't come across his books before - sound very similar to a series about DCI Bone by TG Reid which I am currently reading and can thoroughly recommend if you're interested. Looks like I have found my next set of books.

    I am a huge fan of DCI Bone books, @richardandros having read a good few of them. My favourites of that genre however are the Granite City ones with DS Logan McRea by Stuart MacBride.
