Lochranza to Claonaig ferry
We are first time caravan owners (having previously had MH's) and are planning a trip to the East of Scotland in May. I have just booked the ferries to and from Arran but having looked at some YouTube clips of the ferry from Lochranza I'm a bit concerned that getting on and off the ferry may be tricky with a caravan as the ramp looks quite steep. Has anyone done this crossing that could advise if it's ok? Many thanks

Don’t worry about it. The ferry operators will advise and they take hundreds of caravans every year. We have done it, a long time ago. Are you staying at Carradale?

And don't go to the east of Scotland if you’re looking for Arran!😄
You’ll be fine. If the CalMac website shows they take caravans on a particular route then it’ll work OK. We’ve not done that particular crossing but have used loads of others.

The tide goes out and in and at very low tides many ferry ramps are also very steep. Just wait for the next sailing when the tide will have come in again.
