Marker lights not working.....
Long story, short version…..
Following an attempted theft back in Oct, I have had to return the vehicle 3 times due to unfinished/poor workmanship from an Aviva recommended repairer….. I am still not entirely happy & despite Aviva stating claim is closed I have given them details about outstanding issues/awaiting of parts….
Upon collection last Thurs, whilst driving home, I realised my side marker lights had not come on. Googling the issue wasn't initially positive, plenty of references to the 'B' pillar & fuses, although most referred to a Schaudt adaptor ad01 which was nowhere to be found on my Fiat Ducato based Benimar.
I then googled, 'do Fiat use schaudt adaptor ad01' & found a site:
misterg.org.uk/camper-converters-socket-html
This showed exactly what was tucked away behind the cover at the base of my 'B' pillar & as I could hear a 'click' from a relay when I turned lights on, thought this would warrant investigating further….
I have (hopefully) attached photos, which led to the successful finding of the culprit, a blown 5 amp fuse attached to an additional relay that was buried behind a mangled mess of connectors all entwined with one another
The YELLOW arrow is pointing to the relay that clicked when switching on the lights when marker lights failed to illuminate….. the RED arrow is where the multiple connectors were simply rammed into this space, with the all important 'combined' relay hidden behind them all…..
Rear view of the combined fused relay indicated by purple arrow…
Front view of combined fuse/relay - note the blue rubber seal….
Cover removed showing 5 amp fuse…
Fuse cover that clips into place over fuse….
Relay secured to metal pillar with self adhesive velcro pads for easier access & visibility
Final image prior to cover replacement & all connectors pushed back into the space from which they came…..😲
Hope this all makes sense & could be of help to anyone who experiences a similar problem.
