I assume you don't have the parallel bars already fixed to the rear of the motorhome? Some manufacturers fix these bars as standard allowing any owner to fix a bike rack at some point in the future. Can you see any mounting plates on the inside of the van roughly where you would expect to see the mounting bars on the outside of the van? If they are not already fixed you would have to start from scratch which would require drilling the back of the van to fix the mounting plates.

no fixings inside or out. I was more thinking along the lines of…. Are there any areas in the back wall that have been strengthened, or is the whole back wall suitable to accept a bike rack. Fully understand the need to drill into the back wall. Just a bit worried about buying the wrong rack and drilling in the wrong place

Generally the parallel bars will be the same. Different bike racks require differing distance between them. You could try contacting Swift direct or perhaps taking the van to a Swift dealer to have the parallel bars fitted professionally. The fitting of the actual bike rack is is quite straightforward. Have a look here
