I have recieved an email offering late availabilty at several sites including Bridlington at £19.20 per night so I thought that I would look to book a few nights away ,But the cheapest price that I got was £20.60 for this year and into early 2025 , I also tried other sites that were on offer and the same again no pitches on offer at the prices quoted all were dearer by more than 50p ,so where are these pitches ,and yes i did check alltypes of pitch most of the grass pitches are closed this time of year and so are the tent ones as well

The lowest price shown now is £20.40 and £21.10 for January (excluding the Christmas peak) and into February so I assume your email is either an error or prices have gone up for some reason, what date was your email as I can't find mine?

For me an extra pound or so isn't a deal breaker if I wanted to go away?

Btw you do know that's the one person plus pitch price?

Looks like 'dynamic pricing' in action! I booked Chatsworth for this Christmas - months ago and we're paying £56 pn for a serviced pitch. Lot of money, I know - but so what - at our age we don't know how many Christmases we've got left!😀

Just checked again and, on 'low availability' days, the price has gone up to over £64 pn.

I suppose the psychology of Dynamic Pricing (as far as the Club prices are concerned) is that its difficult to recognise the lowest price as low, if you see what I mean, as in the case of Christmas at Chatsworth it still seems quite high? If you go out for a meal on Christmas Day you would expect the prices to be at least double normal menu pricing but would probably be horrified if that happened to Club site prices? One assumes there are extra costs on the Club side like addition payments to staff? Seven days at Chatsworth over Christmas New Year would amount to about £450, I can't see that as being excessive. Chatsworth is a pretty unique destination. You can always brag you spent Christmas at Chatsworth😉

Anyway I hope Ros and Richard have a lovely time.

Sounds like dynamic pricing, or they simply allocated a number of pitches at the lower price and these were taken very quickly.

Thanks @DavidKlyne . We were last there for Christmas in 2018 - just after we got this van and it was lovely with all the vans and the site decorated - I'm sure it will be just as spectacular this year. Only slight niggle is that because of the way Christmas day has fallen this year, we have to leave on the day after Boxing Day since the site was full for the weekend - even when I booked months ago! Just goes to show that even these prices aren't putting people off.

Hope you have great time, I'm sure you know this but keep checking for cancellations, I was in the same position as you but some dates appeared around or within the 21 days (which is wow - on Thursday!) and one time a few days before we needed it and we were actually on site.

If you have the freedom to do so and make a last minute decision then do as CS suggests. Sadly there will always be cancellations at this time of year because of illness or worse. As you will be onsite have a chat with the site staff as they might be able to alert you to any cancellations if people ring the site direct.

Might be worth checking the web site regularly to see if any cancelations or ringing the wardens to see hat they can do. Not sure if the system as changed, but we have rung and got in when the website said the site was full.
