Marazion/Old name Threeways
For anyone with fond memories of Marazion/Threeways.
we called at the site a couple of days ago.
The new owners have negotiated a ten year lease from St Aubyn Estates. The site looks very tidy and smart. It now has portakabin style toilets and showers. The wardens seem very welcoming.
And, it’s open ALL YEAR at £20/£25 depending on season, including electricity.
What a shame the CAMC couldn’t do that, but there we are….
I think you book through Pitchup or maybe direct.

It was discovered a while ago that the site was being run by another party (see the other thread) and it’s good to hear you’ve been for a look around.

Thank you for the update R2CD, nice to hear from someone who has called in/ used the newly operated site. It was our all time favourite Club Site, and we have every intention of using it under the new management when we get the chance👍

The Club has big overhead costs - head office, plus managers, full time wardens, relief staff and all the rest. A couple without those overheads can always run a site more cheaply and that’s what’s happening here. It’s good news.

Agreed, complaining about the clubs prices often misses the point of overheads, the need to employ site staff as against doing it yourself, provide relief wardens and the need to follow employment law which again small sites can largely avoid.
Having said that I do know the situation at the C&CC site at Luss where the landlords a large estate business having run a static site up the road for a few years decided they would run the Luss site when the lease expired. There was nothing the club could do which is probably the same as this club found here.
If you are looking at Loch Lomond to stay the landlords spent heavily on the site and improved it beyond belief. They have now different areas with tents further down the site and caravans and motorhomes as you come in. All touring pitches face the Loch with generally good views and is a very good site. It is however probably more costly than if the C&CC still had it.
