We visit The Howard in Rosedale Abbey, North Yorkshire on a regular basis and have done for over 30 years, long before it belonged to caravan club, we are disappointed to say the least to find the early closure this season of this site (9th September) next season it’s not opening till after the Easter holidays (25th April) Is anyone else experiencing this at other popular sites?

See the other thread about Ilfracombe.

Have you asked CAMC what’s going on?

On the plus side they have decided to keep Cirencester open all year instead of closing it.

I assume the Club don't make these decisions in a vacuum? They must look at the projected occupancy and decide if it is financially worth keeping the site open? I am not familiar with this campsite but given the site has quite a few hardstandings and as a village on its doorstep you might imagine that it could support a longer season? There could be all sorts of reasons behind the decision including whether they can staff it for longer.
