Hi, We have recently installed a Astex wifi system in our Motorhome. We are looking for a data only sim to work in the UK and EU.

I know Astex do one but they only offer 25GB a month in the EU. I am concerned this will not be enough as we spend up to 3 months at a time in the EU. We need data for TV, email and teams meetings.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Alison

Of the major players O2 might be your best bet (25Gb roaming) I would also have a look at Vodaphones' travel offers, they might suit? I have never bought a Continental sim but that maybe another option for a 3 month period?.

If you have not seen it another forum is recommending IQ GO

I also have an Avtex router etc. I use an EE sim on an advanced plan. Then you can opt for roaming up to your monthly data allowance. You must use the router more in the UK than you do abroad. The other option is to pay a £25 roaming fee for the months you're abroad but you need to make sure you remember to pay it otherwise you'll be charged a daily fee.

If you have BT Halo, you also get a discount on the monthly sim charge.

We use IQ go which is good. however you have to be aware that it is only for 90 days per year.

There is the option of having 2 sims but its £20 for the sim then £20 a month for 100gb.

There are a few other options for using a UK sim overseas, Poppit get a very good following as do Tesco's Rocket pack.

We have also used IQ GO and RWG mobile.

Using an overseas sim is fine as long as you don't want to stream UK tv, if you do then you will need a 'Very Good' VPN. Some of the tv channels can now get through most of the free VPNs and even some of the paid ones.

We go twice a year for long trips to Europe an use various sims and routers. Our phones have 12gb and 15gb roaming allowance which we find good enough for our personal use but to stream you need at least 50gb a month preferably 100gb if you like your tv in the evenings.
