TW, I did type a response but it disappeared into the ether with Fastnet's problems. The "Overall" figures are not a direct comparison with C&MC site costs. They simple illustrate my average nightly costs over the years and they were calculated using all types of sites that I used, including Continental ones. They do show they were cheaper than the nightly costs of a C&MC site and that over the years they had increased by nearly 56 percent. Hope that clarifies..

I'm just wondering why you won't name it. Then we can stop wondering?

It just seems to be only you that is wondering CS. Like I said knowing the location adds nothing to the debate, the fact is, the very low site occupancy indicates the Club has not got its pricing strategy right for the site at this time of year.

P.S. page 6 is still not accessable due server errors.

It only clarifies my thoughts, PD. That is, it’s not a comparison at all.

Prompted by the lead in from PTC, I thought I would look at the prices of some of the other sites offering non electric economy pitches. I am absolutely staggered at the costs. I don't think I have ever acused the Club of rip off prices before but many of them definitely fit that description.

The few CC sites I checked showed a £4 / £5 reduction on the cost of a grass pitch during September. Given someone with refillable gas would be unlikely to use that in 24 hours at that time of year, the differential in price seems very fair. You are after all only forgoing connecting to the EHU and still have access to the facilities. Whether you use them or not is a personal choice. Hardly a rip off in my opinion.

    +1, Steve.

The term “rip off” implies some sort of deviousness or deception which certainly doesn’t apply here. You see the price and pay it - or not - in the full knowledge of what you’re getting so there’s nothing underhand about it.

Of course the location matters, look at sites like Nunnykirk. And of course the facilities matter too. Or it could be the when you visited had poor occupancy while not the case at other times, the pricing strategy is on the whole season?

I cannot think of a reason why you don't want to name the site PD unless as in a previous thread when you claimed a club site had metering and then it turned out to be an AS? Or unless, well we don't know?

Now while you think it might not add anything that isn't automatically necessarily the case.

So in addition to the description and criticisms of those using club sites I posted about last week, we now have in PDs eyes , madness and those using them are being ripped off, do mad people easily get ripped off?

It can never be of course, that people actually like both club sites, what they offer and the prices and that's why they use them?
