Site Booking

Hi

We have been on sites where there are plenty of spare pitches. This is very strange for this time of the year which is apparently Summer. Is it the cost of living crisis or the Club putting prices up too much. In my opinion they are too high. If the Clubs revenue goes down they will no doubt tempted to put the prices up and if I am right less people will use the sites. This will cause a never ending spiral downwards. Perhaps they should consolidate and not build more sites for the time being. They could reduce staff which which would reduce the appearance of the sites. As an aside some sites have taken the wilding theory to an extreme and are looking scruffy and unkempt.

I don’t think you are a frequent user of this forum so maybe you haven’t seen the numerous threads discussing the various points raised in your post.

You might find some interesting reading if you plough through. Note, too, Rowena's thread about autumn discounts which will reduce site fees in some cases.

    Hi Tinwheeler

Not a regular contributer but I read it and see what I see. Looked at Black Knowl for September for a caravan and a couple. The cost per night is coming up to £60. I think it is a tad expensive.

Black Knowl is popular, a service pitch in September comes in at £45 at the other New Forest site.  However, I would choose BK, it’s a much better site.

As Steve said you're looking at a service pitch but as they are fully booked for half the time and low for 10 days out of the other half it looks as if it's not putting people off booking and paying?

As you read the forum, you will be aware of all the pros and cons discussed many times about pricing, staffing, new sites, site occupancy and so on. Why not join in more often and contribute to those discussions as you would then help boost the forum’s use and make your views known?

I can’t comment on site occupancy but folk more knowledgeable than I reckon sites are pretty full and prices don’t seem to be making many people stay away. To be honest, discussions about ‘high’ site prices have been going on ever since the forum started in 2012 yet camc is still rolling along and attracting more members.
