Hi all,

I have an old 1990 Compass Rallye 430 and although the hob works fine, the heater will not fire up. I have checked the gas valve behind the heater at the bottom of the wardrobe but still no luck.

I can see a spark through the split in the heater and I can't here a hiss from the gas. I've tried all kinds of things and wonder if the heater is just broken?

Any advice would be appreciated. The heater is a Rivera Palermo. It looks old but was assured it worked when I bought the van.

I also have an electrical issue which I ought to post in another thread.

Many thanks for your time!

Adam

Is there a gas manifold which spits off from the main feed to distribute gas to the various appliances? This can have individual taps on it to isolate each appliance.

Why not contact the person you bought it off and ask if there is a knack to turning on

If after checking the suggestion in the first reply and it is still not working my suggestion would be to call in a qualified person to check it out. Gas is not to be messed with !
