Camping pod on Cl
We’ve just been to a CL and there’s now a camping pod on there. Is this acceptable?

It may need the Club’s approval and it may need the local planning officer’s approval- but neither you nor I know whether those steps have been taken. So let’s live and let live.

We've been on a couple of sites where the pods have been sited well away from the CL pitches. Don't know about the rules but suspect that they'll be treated the same as if they were tents for licensing purposes so the owner will have to show separation somehow.

There are lots of CLs and CS sites that have alternative accommodation such as Glamping Pods, camping pods, shepherd’s huts, yurts, Safari style tents, even some very unusual camping huts. They are usually a little bit away from caravan pitches.
The site owners, like anyone else are trying to make a living, and different forms of camping have been very popular for quite a while now. Most usually mention such an addition, but it might take a while to update any CL page on here, or in the Site Directory. You can always ask when booking, if it isn’t something you like, then go somewhere else.2 -
Did the pod or its occupants affect your stay in any way?

Pods and camping pitches, as far as CL's are concerned are two different things and governed by different regulations. I am pretty sure there have been some incentives for farmers to diversify and alternative accommodation like pods would be included in that. Once the initial investment has been the CL owner is likely to get a better return from the pod than the camping. I suspect it is a requirement of the Club that the CL pitches are in their own area so pods shouldn't be mixed in with the pitches. Perhaps the OP can clarify the situation?

Why not ask CL Maddie? She’s the expert in these matters. Most of us can only give opinions.

The staff member who ‘looks after’ CL issues. She often posts in the CL section.
