So sad, so very young, and he seemed to be doing so well. They are/were great food ambassadors, always keen to promote local food heroes and helpful initiatives. Love their recipes as well. My heart goes out to his family, and Si King, who must be devastated, they were proper soul mates. He leaves a lovely legacy behind.

Very sad to hear.  Si and Dave had a great relationship.  Heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends.

A very sad day, we saw the pair live at The Grimsby Auditorium a couple of decades ago and followed their programmes and recipes ever since. RIP Dave.

I think the relationship between the 2 of them must have helped some men see how opening up with another male friend was a good thing. There have been other recent examples on TV but these 2 had special friendly easy going personalities, plus they were "ordinary" chefs, meaning they resonated with the average viewer.

    RIP indeed.
