Seton Sands Haven site
Has any one visited this site, as they seem to offering great discounts during March, and we thought that we might try a visit there. The same appears to apply to their Haggeston Castle site, which it I remember correctly Kjell has stayed on.

We have indeed nellie, it is good for the grandchildren, but getting quite pricey now one is at school. Haggerston is "tired", the pitches and facilities all need renewed, so we would not go there at a peak period, but Seaton Sands looks quite a bit better. More modern facilities and better looking pitches.
The size of the pitches is not that generous compared to van length, so book as big a one as you can. I see they have a small charge for dogs.
If you do go, please report back with your opinion, we have 2 sets of friends not so far away that it would be ideal for visiting.

It looks as if we will visit, so will report back, Kjell. We are not too bothered about the facilities, being used to using our own on CLs etc. There is no choice of pitch at Seton but lots of different types to select from at Haggerston, and as we only have a 6.5 m caravan the pitch size is of not such a great concern.

I played around with various caravan sizes, and it does look like all the pitches are the same size....8.5m long and 7m wide, so a decent size. Pictures of facilities make them look OK too.
None of us ever used the showers at Haggerston, they were very poor. Like you, we are used to using our own.
The Seaton pitches seem all to be serviced, which is even better. Though there are a lot more pitches at Haggerston, only 10 of them are serviced, the ones we have used had water but no waste water drain, which is not so good. Pitch surface there was also not great, very gritty .

Guess that's why it is so relatively cheap, Kjell. Much bigger pitches at Seton and a fair bit dearer too. Prices seem to change from day to day too.

Prices have shot up in Northumberland now Nellie😕 It was “discovered” during lockdown, went from being the loveliest most undiscovered bit of England to the place of refuge for the heaving masses, the genie well and truly out of the bottle.
Bit cheaper inland, but the coastal sites seem all over £20 per night. Two we have used and loved, not far from Haggerston are West Kyloe (small private) and Brock Mill Farm, which isn’t far from tidal causeway to Lindisfarne. I note both of these are £25 now. Of the two, West Kyloe would be our choice. Not used Seaton, might be one for us to consider. We tended to be in a cottage up there these last few years, so lost touch a little bit. Not sure on Foulden Hagg CL prices, but that’s a good location a few miles from Berwick.

We have used Foulden Haggs in the past, but always on the grass pitches which might not be useable at the moment following all the rain we have had.
Seton Sands was coming out at £99 for 5 nights on a serviced pitch next month, and Haggerston £20 less, for 5 nights again, including a £1 pn for a dog. Should we go to either I will give a review after our visit.
