ATC intermittent power interruption

My Volvo XC40 mild hybrid has a dealer fitted Volvo towbar. When the engine is not running ATC intermittently switches off and back on.

It can be triggered by starting the engine, operating the central locking, or nothing at all.

My caravan dealer has just experienced the same problem with another customer's XC60.

Has anyone succeeded in getting this problem cured? Dealer and Volvo UK technical team are so far proving useless.
