Routes to Coed-Y-Llwyn
Shown are routes to Coed-y-Llwyn as suggested by Google Maps.
I an inclined to favour the southern route.
Has anyone traveled this route towing a caravan ?

These are the Club Instructions:-
"Ideal route from North and South: (Via A5 through Langollen and Corwen) - 3m after Corwen turn left off A5 at the 2nd set of traffic lights (signposted Bala) onto A494. At Bala turn right onto A4212 (signposted Trawsffynydd). In about 17.5m turn right at the T junction onto A470/487 (signposted Porthmadog), within 3m continue straight on A487 (do not turn right onto A470 signposted Ffestiniog). In 0.25m turn left into lane signposted Gellilydan and immediately fork left. The site is on the left in 0.25m. Route from Betws-Y-Coed via Ffestiniog is an alternative route; however, the road is restricted in places and gradients are more severe. Access road narrow - please call site for advice."
It seems the northern route would match in with these instructions? If I am uncertain about a route I tend to have a look at Street View where you get a pretty reliable idea of what the roads are like, or just follow the route on Google Earth and dip into Street View where you think there could be an issue. I am sure there will be people along to give you first hand experience.

If you want to cut out part of the Motorway you could head up from Worcester through Kidderminster to Shrewsbury.
We've done this route many a time with a caravan and there are no particular problems. You don't go into Worcester but by pass it. Obviously you'll have to contend with travelling through Kidderminster (ring road with a number of roundabouts).Much Wenlock is straightforward as is run through to Shrewsbury.

Agree, that is definitely the route I would use. It avoids all the traffic disruptions around Brum.
