Just got an email offering first night free on a Club Site next year. Not sure of all details yet, but sounds the kind of offer to encourage us to look at a Club Site. Hopefully, T&Cs will suit us. A positive offer👍

    Great news Ttda

However we don't receive emails so does this mean we'll "miss out"? Does the club have a criteria for these offerings? If so is it a "1984" type club? Are you more "equal" than me?undecidedwink

Yes I was quite surprised too and first thought it was a scam!

How to use your free site night voucher

Just make a UK Club campsite booking (or you may already have a booking) anytime before midnight on 31 December 2023, for an arrival date between the 1 January to 27 March 2024 (including February half term). You will need to pay the deposit or pay in full as usual - and we'll refund that and give you the night for free when you arrive. Simply present your voucher code to the staff upon arrival at Reception and they will do the rest.

Not available to us tourers who present themselves on the day rather than book ahead it seems!

I suspect that emails are sent out in groups WN, and that I just happened to spot it almost as it arrived, so there’s still hope for you😁 I only receive selected emails, but offers like this tend to ping in luckily. Either that or Club are targeting the very unhappy🤣 This could work for us, brings a two night stay well under £20 average. A one off, but very welcome👍

We usually do this Micky. However mainly because I don’t know until day before the off if I can go, but OH could go on his own with the hound. We are fortunate to have a good number of Winter opening sites not far away, with some good cycling for him.

Yes I did get the email thanks TTDA. I was thinking of a short break after Christmas so I may well take advantage of the offer.

A useful thread, because it had a different source address than the normal mailings, I found it in my junk folder.

Is there anything to stop you, or anyone, booking on the day, even an hour away?

I read it as the booking must be made before the end of the year but the discount only applies to stays from 1st Jan to 27th March.

Received the email too, don't usually use club sites, but a free night may tempt me to book short break next year. 🙂

Not got my email yet but I'll not be using my voucher because of the restrictions.  Our plans are already made for winter style hotel holidays up to 28th March 2024.

We received both emails, and might just take advantage of the offer for a single, or possibly two nights on our way home from our Xmas/New Year trip. I take it that the voucher is the one attached to the bottom of the first email, which we received at 12:14 today. The second email was entitled "A personal message from Nick Lomas -Director Genera!", which arrived at 15:58 and as CS stated highlighted how to use the voucher. It also talked about "the challenges we (the club) have faced as an organization in 2023 and the measures we have taken to try and mitigate the financial pressures experienced".

Like others I got the email. Probably quite a clever move as it might tempt those that don't use Club sites and I somehow doubt that people will only spend one night so it starts look similar to the Morris Leisure Group three nights for the price of two? As someone who tends only to book a short time ahead, especially at that time of year it means committing much further ahead. Might be a good way to get the season started.

    David

Edit, Until Nellie posted that he had received two emails I didn't realise there were two and like Steve I found it in my spam folder! Might be worth a check.

Glad folks are finding the email. We shall use the offer. We had thought of using Laneside near Hope for a couple of nights not far from home, but this offer makes Castleton Club Site more attractive. I shall probably book on 30th December for following week……….

Similar for us, we will book Meathop towards the end of December for a night of two on our way home.

Are there 2 e mails?    We have only had one, the one offering a free site night.

    I received two (yesterday):

"Your first night free* voucher" sent by Caravan and Motorhome Club E-Gift

" A personal message from Nick Lomas - Director General" sent by Caravan and Motorhome Club

In that order about two and a half hours apart (from different addresses).

Genuinely decent offer it seems to me.

Most  Club sites down here seem to be closed for the winter and the wardens gone away with the swallows. Would anyone like to have my voucher?

Ditto reason for Laneside and Castleton but we will be the week after you...

Aside...whoever puts the narrative by the lovely photo of The Roaches attached to the email..should check the location in the Peak District.  Before arriving at The Roaches from the Castleton site (roughly a 45 min drive) you will first pass the Club site at Buxton before travelling up in the clouds along the Buxton to Leek road......as you descend, The Roaches will be come visible on your right (watch out for the Wallabies) and the Club site Blackshaw Moor a little further on your left...

We passed Blackshaw Moor earlier this year, nice location for walking, cycling etc… we were heading further West, a great CS (very swish showers, loos, etc…) at Mow Cop. Had a lovely four days away in that early red hot spell. We have Castleton and Chatsworth Club Sites, plus Clumber all within 45 minutes, so some good options. Mind…. Not sure Clumber is open after Xmas in Jan/Feb🤔

I haven't received any emails about this offer (have checked junk/spam folders) but I did receive a text message from "TheClub". There was no further indication of the identity of the sender until the end where there was a link to a camc web page, before spotting this I was about to delete the message as spam. Not a great way of communicating.

Maybe log in to the website and check your communication preferences David. Those who may have opted out of emails will receive a text and those without any will get a letter in the post. EVERY current member of the club will get this offer.

Yes, we will most likely use the offer, we all like a bargain!  We also used the 3for2 Morris Leisure offer last month, which was good value.  However, if I understand it correctly, unlike Morris Leisure, with this offer you have to pay first, then get the free night refunded on arrival.  That seems a lot of extra work for the wardens.

With ML you just pay, 48 hours before arrival, for the number of nights charged for, the free night isn't charged upfront, then refunded on arrival.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just take payment for the stay, less the free night cost, before arrival?

....and the ML offer runs from October to March and no limits on the amount of times customers can visit and make use....across their 6 sites, too.

you can even get an extra discount with ML by ticking the box for CAMC/C&CC member....how nice is that?

just a different take on how different organisations view 'an offer' and it's ease of use.
