Booked it years ago, couldn't go due to lockdown, then we decided to postpone until 2022. Somebody crashed into our car 5 weeks before departure so guess what ? 2022 was also cancelled!

So with some anxiety 2023 arrived and thankfully our first trip abroad was a complete success!!

We stayed at Bearsted on the way down, a lovely site we stayed at earlier this year for a holiday in Kent.

Day 2 was channel tunnel and Rouen (camping de foret) - delays on the tunnel meant we arrived at the site at 730pm too late to go into Rouen which was a disappointment. Wasn't over impressed with camping de foret - sign said no twin axle so we panicked, but nobody mentioned it. Pitch was small and tricky to get the van into. Nice beer and food though!

Day 3 drive to Jumieges - Guyonnaire for 11 nights! Great site - MASSIVE pitch right in a corner so private and quiet. Fantastic water park, kids loved it, so did we. Lovely food, mainly Dutch visitors but met a few other english families. Staff were friendy and helpful. We had a few days out, to the beach at Les Sables-d'Olonne, which was nice but a bit too windy for our liking. To the local markets which were great. Hoping to get to La Rochelle but at 2hrs seemed a bit too much driving after the long drive down.

A smooth trip back up to camping de foret meant we finally had an afternoon / evening in Rouen which was simply stunning. Smallest car park ever, not ideal for our landrover but it worked out fine!

This time the we only had a small delay on the tunnel so back at Bearsted for a relaxing evening before driving back to Yorkshire!!

Fantastic trip and we've booked Guyonnaire again for next year!!!

Nice to hear you finally made it, so many have had to change plans through the events of Covid. Sounds like a perfect family break! smile
