Warranty registrations

When buying a new fiat ducato Motorhome is it the the dealer’s responsibility to register the new vehicles warranty with the customers full name and details to fiat so they know you are the owner and any warranty work you are recognised as the owner.I’m asking this as I’ve had a problem arise with my Motorhome and fiat wanted proof I was the owner as they had shelved the original claim because I was not registered .
