Can anyone please recommend somewhere on the Loch Lomond area not far from the A82 for an overnight stay in September

I can’t help with the site, but personally I wouldn’t use the A82 for traveling north or south, as it’s not very good if you want a low stress tow. I would go via Callander M80, M9, A84, A85. It only adds about 8 miles. You could use Strathclyde country park to overnight, which is very convenient from the M74.

Should have put A82 up the side of Loch Lomond, you rejoin it at Crianlarich using the route I posted above.

That was my first thought too. The A82 alongside Loch Lomond is a stretch of road I always advise against using, especially towing a caravan. Obviously, an alternative route depends very much on your destination but I’d go along with Steve's suggestion.

This is fairly typical example of the road.

Hi, the Camping and Caravan Club site at Luss is right on the A82 and right on the Bonnie Bonnie Banks.....

We stayed there a long time ago, but haven't been members of the CCC for a while now, so not been back. But have good memories of the site.

    Cheers

    I don’t think it is a C&CC site these days 🤷🏻‍♂️

Correct, TW. It is no longer one of theirs, but is now an independent site.

There is a CL just before Callender, and adjacent to the A84, but without EHU, which might suit for a single night's stop.
