Fiat Ducato wheel bolts

After a four week tour of the Hebrides and Western Highlands I have just discovered that I’m missing a wheel bolt. Very strange.

ours is a 2019 Fiat Ducato based van with alloy wheels. Anyone else had this problem and anyone else been able to source a replacement bolt?

    If you're just buying the 1 bolt, I'd be inclined to go to the dealers, but as DD suggest, you might need many more & if FIAT charge as much as Merc, that could  set you back a good few quid. Have you lost one or snapped one? 

    In 40+ years of vehicle ownership I've yet to use a torque wrench to tighten wheel bolts/nuts ( & I own a good few) & haven't lost a wheel or fastener

    I'm guessing you are looking at something like an M14, about 48mm long, conical under head profile and 19mm A/F. If I'm correct these are fairly standard and I'd be looking for your nearest garage.

    I have this issue as well and found out that Fiat have used two different diameter sizes of wheel nut in their build. So I suggest taking off one of your remaining wheel nut and measure the diameter and order one of those. 

    I went to a Fiat Professional garage who looked and their online system for a new nut and their still ordered the wrong size.

    It's easy .... remove a bolt. Take bolt to a FIAT dealer's parts dept (using a different vehicle) & say ... I would like another of these please 😉

    Yes you would think it was easy but I must have gone to the only Fiat Professional garage that doesn't hold a stock of wheel bolts so they had to order them.

    I can't think that wheel bolts/nuts are something that are ordered every day & if there are various lengths of bolt fitted I can sympathise with the garage in not holding stock of every variation. If you actually show them what you want, they can measure it & get the correct part .... if there's then any mistake, it's up to the garage & not you.

    It is not unknown for someone who has lost or snapped a wheel bolt or nut to get a replacement by simply removing one from a suitable parked vehicle!

    I think the "normal" chassis and the heavy duty chassis have different diameter bolts, M14 on the standard chassis and M16 on the heavy duty chassis, but I assume the garage checked that......
