Hello everyone.

First time on the forum and have a query.  We are looking to change the flooring in our 2005 Autotrail Cheyenne as the original carpet has seen better days.  Thinking of wood effect and a friend has suggested Karndean flooring.  Does anyone have any experience of this or any tips?

Unrelated to motorhomes but we have just had one of our bathrooms in the house done with Vinyl interlocking flooring. It looks very nice and in some ways would be excellent. However it is very heavy compared to carpets so you might like to take that into consideration.

As an aside there are a couple of companies out there that will make made to measure carpets for motorhomes if you decide to stick with carpets.

    Hello and welcome.

Why not have vinyl flooring? Posh cushioned lino, an off cut should be sufficient. Wouldn't be the weight or price issue of your suggestion. You could add a rug if you wanted. Our motor home had vinyl covered with whipped carpet in 2 parts. Easy to clean, choice to use carpets or not.

Karndean flooring Is extremely hard wearing but very heavy and expensive. As David suggests, having some carpets made up as we have done in the past keeps the cost down and warm to the foot. Easily removed to clean too.

Our local carpet shop made us some caravan carpets from an offcut using the old carpets as templates.
