Twin axle, 6 berth, fixed bunkbeds NOT 8ft wide...

Hi,

We're looking at buying our first caravan. We have two boys- 3 and 1.

We seem to have ended up with a list of things we'd like but after lots of googling I'm not sure such a caravan exists! Would appreciate some recommendations.

We'd like a 6 berth caravan, twin axle with fixed bunk beds at the back. Ideally there would be a proper door to close off the area with the bunkbeds so we don't have to worry about creeping around once the boys have gone to bed.

My husband is very clear he doesn't want an 8ft wife caravan and would like it to be no wider than the van. We have a VW T6, so dont think towing weight will be an issue.

Would appreciate some recommendations. And if such a caravan doesn't exist, something that ticks most boxes.

Thanks!

Sprite Major 6 TD......not a twin axle though, and not a solid door to the bunk room.

Twin axles and solid doors add weight so restrict what can tow them and who will buy them.

+1 to Kj for the Sprite TD6, there are also more Swifts with the same layout but with more toys.

We've had one for 10 years now and no problems at all. There isn't a rear door but a screen blind but it does shut off the rear children's area which has two bunks beds and a good size dinette with power sockets and it works really well for children. Also the top bunk can take up to 60Kg which will allow for growing room.

Our daughter was also looking for a van with fixed bunks and found that there are not as many available as there used to be.

You may have to look at older vans.
